Where are you located?

I am located inside Rock Paper Scissors Salon in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.

Metered street parking is available. The Passport Parking app is highly recommended to use to pay for parking during your visit.


Should I get a curly haircut?

Curly haircuts are most ideal for clients that wear their hair most of the time (more than half the time) in it’s natural curly state.

Depending on the current health of your hair, texture, porosity, curl pattern, & density results will vary.

If your hair has a significant amount of heat/chemical damage, is relaxed or transitioning please keep in mind that realistically it will take multiple appointments & treatments to get your hair back to it’s healthiest.

Healthy hair & scalp care is at the forefront of Sunflowers & Scissors so we can partner together to get your hair at it’s healthiest so you can be versatile in how you wear your hair.


How long are appointments?

Haircut and treatment appointments are usually 2 to 3 hours long depending on what service you are receiving along with the density, texture, porosity, and current health of the hair.

New client services & kids services are usually between 2 to 3 hours depending on the same factors.


How do I book a hair color appointment?

Haircolor services are not being offered at this time nor in the future. If you would like referrals for haircolor services you are welcome to send an email to kristyramoshair@gmail.com request those referrals.


What is your appointment availability?

All appointment bookings open up one month out at a time for returning clients only at this time.

If you have not yet we recommend signing up for the Sunflowers & Scissors newsletter on this website as that is where the next month’s appointment booking information will be announced first.

Booking Appointments:

An example of what that month by month booking looks like this:

August will be available for online booking in July.

September will be available for online booking in August.

When Booking Online:

If you are unable to book a service that is because I do not have enough time in my calendar to fit you in due to the time slot being booked already, the books are not open for the day you are seeking, or I am not in the salon. 


What are your COVID-19 protocols?

Masks are at your liberty to wear or not wear at your appointments.

All implements, tools, & salon equipment used are cleaned, sanitized, & disinfected after each client.

Please be mindful if you are sick/showing signs of Covid-19, cold, or flu/been exposed to someone with Covid-19 to cancel your appointment. Once you are feeling well/testing negative for Covid-19 if you had it or have been exposed you can go online & reschedule your appointment.


How do I arrive & prepare for my appointment?

Please arrive with your hair freshly washed (you may do this at least 2 days prior to your appointment), fully detangled the best you can (there is a detangling fee if excessive detangling is necessary), fully dry, & with a minimal amount of light styling products (no oils or heavy butters) in your hair.

Please wear your hair down with NO braids, buns, twist or braid outs, headbands, ponytails, updo styles, or any style that will alter your curl pattern.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THE HAIR PREPARATION: 
We have the liberty to CANCEL and RESCHEDULE your appointment if the hair preparation is not followed as requested.

NO ENTOURAGES OR EXTRA PEOPLE. Only clients that receiving a service are allowed in the area I am working in. Extra people may sit in the waiting area.


Should I do anything to my hair before my appointment day with you? 

Yes! We highly recommend detoxing your hair (meaning,clarifying your hair) if you are using any of the following product lines or products in your hair: 

Shea Moisture, Aussie, Cantu, Wen, Maui Moisture, Ecostyler, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Creme of Nature, or any products with super heavy oils and butters in them. 

We recommend detoxing your hair at least 2 weeks before your appointment day. Doing so will help you achieve the best results for your wash and go styling service with me. 

Malibu C Undoo Goo shampoo is great for detoxing your hair. That product can be purchased through the Sunflowers & Scissors Amazon store. The link for the store is here:

How do I book my appointment?

Hair appointments are done through online booking. Online booking through the Vagaro salon system is available to schedule appointments.

If you are unable to book a service that is because I do not have enough time in my calendar to fit you in due to the time slot being booked already, the day or month you are requesting is not available for online booking, or I am not in the salon.


I thought I booked an appointment online, but I did not receive a confirmation text or email?

If you DO NOT receive a confirmation, there is NO APPOINTMENT booked for you as that slot is no longer available.


I tried to book an appointment/contact you through sending a direct message (DM) on Instagram, but I did not get a response.

ALL appointment bookings are handled through the online booking system Vagaro.

All other business inquiries are handled through email at kristyramoshair@gmail.com.


What happens if I have to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

If you have to reschedule or cancel your appointment time, you have forfeited your appointment time and you will have to wait to book your next appointment once the next available online booking date becomes available.

We recommend frequently checking the Vagaro booking website to check for any last minute appointment openings due to cancellations.

Do you offer education for stylists?

Yes! Third Eye Curl Education is my curly hair education company.

Check out the Third Eye Curl Education tab on this website for the upcoming class schedule & fill out the Third Eye Curl Education Form to submit your info to receive details. One-on-one classes, in salon education, & online education are available.


What are Express Haircuts?

The service includes a dry cut with NO washing or styling.

If you want a significant change for your hair (big chop, a complete change of shape, a complete change of length) DO NOT schedule this service. You will have to schedule the full curly haircut service.
